After the Civil War, San Antonio became a supplier of cattle trail drives. As years passed, the city's population grew larger and larger and eventually became the largest city in 1900. In 1900, the city also had five railroads built on it. With the city establishing things such as water supply, hospitals, telephones, and paved streets, the economy was still a good economy due to the increase of immigrants.
